Consider
Consider is a collection of ideas, words and art that offers an opportunity to take a minute (or two) to feel the strong force that binds us and the ground we live on together.
The profound truth is that everything is made from nature and everything depends on nature to survive. Sometimes we forget that when we are absorbed in a world of over-consumption, over- stimulation and excess. We take for granted the resources and materials that our environment provides us with and need reminding that there is no hierarchy between man, plant and animal.

Inspiration for the project came from Emergence Magazine, It’s Freezing in LA and other climate, environmental and sustainability focused publications. The outcome sits between a book, a magazine and a work of art. The purpose is to leave the reader more open-minded, more patient, and with the ability to notice all the natural beauty that surrounds us.

The intention of this book was to evoke a feeling of calmness and wonder. To do so, the balance of imagery, colour and text were carefully considered and inspired by natural forms and patterns. Photoshoots that included models focused on the physical form and how our relationship with nature can be communicated through the body. As a whole, it was important to make use of empty space to allow each page to breath and control the pace at which the viewer absorbs the book.

This book is not a mass market publication nor anything a machine could print in a matter of minutes. It was crafted slowly and assembled gradually with hands that cared for the product it was making. At every step of production, nothing was rushed, nothing was overlooked. From hand making the paper, laser cutting typography, embossing pages, producing a bioplastic to binding the book, attention was given to every detail.
